BeLA newsBrightwave Offers Practical Help to LMS UsersTools and processes for stress free content migration when changing your learning management system Brightwave, the workplace performance and e-learning specialist, today announced that they are offering independent consulting services to learning management system (LMS) administrators who are planning to migrate their LMS platform. The current market consolidation of LMS providers is forcing users to migrate to new platforms. While much attention is paid to implementing the new LMS application, the process of moving e-learning courseware to a new LMS platform is often neglected, and can be extremely time consuming and stressful. "It's difficult for any one LMS provider to provide truly independent support and information to help their customer bases," said Lars Hyland, Director of Learning Services for Brightwave. "For instance, several of our clients are in the process of changing from the Docent LMS to the SumTotal Suite, and they have asked us to advise and support their migration." Brightwave has developed tools and processes to help LMS users identify potential issues early on in the migration plan so that changes to courseware, tracking and reporting data can be managed in a timely fashion. This avoids common pitfalls and leads to less risk of slippage and budgetary overspend. First time LMS buyers need expert advice about how to define and communicate their requirements and how to manage the selection process. Existing LMS users need support on content migration, upgrade paths and functionality. Brightwave's migration consultants offer the following support: Lars concluded: "We provide practical expertise throughout the migration phase so that customers are able to ask the right questions and make the right decisions at the right time."
