ScottishPower and Brightwave Score a Hat Trick

Passion for training excellence recognised through a string of awards

During the past year, ScottishPower, the international energy company, and Brightwave, the workplace e-learning and performance specialist, have together achieved three coveted awards:

'Highly Commended' at the Scottish regional final of the National Training Awards
'Best e-learning project in Scotland' from the Scottish e-Learning Alliance
Special mention for 'best use of a learning content management system', at the inaugural e-learning age and e-learning network awards

Bespoke e-learning has been an important factor in the success of ScottishPower's blended learning strategy. "Our strategy is to use the most effective learning and development tools available in order to support the company's strategic aim," said Jackie Henry, E-learning Manager for ScottishPower.

She explained: "Bespoke e-learning has helped us develop measurable and effective learning programmes that can easily be mixed with traditional training methods to achieve our goals. Brightwave offers us a flexible and cost-effective way of creating and deploying e-learning content."

ScottishPower's five-year long term relationship with Brightwave has led to a decrease in the production turnaround time of new courses, lower production costs, and a marked improvement in the quality of its training.

"We are delighted that ScottishPower has achieved external recognition for their blended training strategy," said Charles Gould, Managing Director for Brightwave. "It proves that well thought out training programmes which directly support an organisation's objectives can be both effective and measurable."
